Steering Committee

Purpose

The purpose of the Steering Committee is to provide leadership for the I-SPIE Representatives Group and its committees.

Notice

There currently is no I-SPIE Steering Committee. The duties of the committee are currently being handled by the Unified Library Management System (ULMS) Resource Sharing Functional Committee (RSFC). The RSFC is maintains the Resource Sharing wiki This link will take you to an external website in a new tab. and the leadership is comprised of Resource Sharing staff nominated by their Library Deans. 

If you would like to revive the I-SPIE Steering Committee, and volunteer to be on the committee, please contact the I-SPIE Web Committee. 

Committee Objectives

  • Continuously evaluate the role of the Steering Committee, other committees, task forces and I-SPIE Representatives group for relevancy and currency.
  • Oversee development and progress of each Committee and Task Force.
  • Recommend methods of implementing goals deriving from I-SPIE conferences.
  • Recommend and implement methods for improving communication and cooperation between the Steering Committee, other committees, task forces, and CSU ILL units as a whole.
  • Consider the most cost effective ways to bring the CSU ILL I-SPIE Representatives, committees and other ILL staff together, virtually or in person to foster continued communication and development of common practices and concerns.
  • Recommend major structural and content changes to I-SPIE Representatives group.
  • Bring to COLD’s attention ILL continuing education opportunities and areas where additional training is desirable.

  • Monthly I-SPIE report via Listserv
  • Checking in with planning committee
  • I want I-SPIE to expand outside the CSU. Bring in all interested CA ILL depts to serve on the steering committee
  • Next year’s conference soon
  • Some sort of collaborative Uc/CSU meeting conference to draw in more vendors, etc.
  • To communicate plans – clarity
  • Is their end-user perspectives on the team? Where are all of our stakeholders in the committee and are they represented? Where do students fit?
  • Represent ISPIE interests to COLD
  • COMMUNICATION
  • I expect the level of communication to grow. We should not be hesitant to become the bold community we are.
  • Can UC ILL coordinate yearly resource sharing meeting with I-SPIE to increase vendor density and pool knowledge
  • What do you want from SC, Communication updates Community
  • Strong representation to COLD, Listening to suggestions/ needs of the I-SPIE community
