Introduction to US Hybrid Pod

The US Hybrid Pod is a Pod/Rota of libraries using Rapido or Alma Peer-to-Peer Resource Sharing. Any library in the United States can join this Pod, but they must agree to follow these shared policies for consistent service to meet user expectations: 

• Delivery Time: 10 Days
• Loan Period: 112
• Cost: $0
• Allow Renewal: Yes (56 day renewal)
  • Allow Automatic Renewals: No
  • Maximum Renewals Allowed: 1 (56 days)
• Expiry Time (Days): 4
• Extend due date during borrowing library closures: Yes

The US Hybrid Pod will be updated monthly to ensure members do not need to constantly be configuring new partners. Every month, two groups will be notified of all partners added the previous month:

• On the 1st Monday of every month, Ex Libris will be sent a list of all libraries who filled out the US Hybrid Pod This link will take you to an external website in a new tab. interest form during the previous month. Ex Libris will then have a week to add those libraries to the pod on their end.
• On the 2nd Monday of every month, the I-SPIE listserv will be notified of who joined the pod in the previous month. Alma libraries in the pod can then import the new Resource Sharing partners from the Community Zone.
